"Harrisville History Day in the Park"
Harrisville, MS concludes the era of 1924-1973 of the Simpson County Bicentennial Celebration, with a full day of activities at the Harrisville Ballpark, and History Museum. Festivities begin at 9a.m., with the opening of the History Museum located in the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Dept. builidng. At 11a.m, Ken Barlow presents the history of the Park's Baseball and Softball teams, with special guest: Marcel Harris, Member of the first Baseball Team of Harrisville in the late 1940's and early 50's. All who played ball at Harrisville are encouraged to attend, and reminisce with former teammates, coaches, and fans! At 12pm. it's fellowship time! Games and activities for all ages, including Bingo, Face Painting, Craft and Food Vendors, plus Live Musical Entertainment by the "V'ille Kids", Ken Barlow, and Edmond Berry are all on the agenda for the afternoon. Kevin Davis, a Bicentennial Executive Committee Member, and a Leader of the Harrisville Bicentennial Functional Committee will open the afternoon activites with remarks at 12:15 p.m. Mark your calendars, and plan to enjoy an afternoon of fun in Harrisville, MS!
